uGANDA:
LAND OF THE YOUTH (2020)
48% of the population in Uganda is under the age of 15. Uganda is a young people’s country. You can see kids everywhere. In the village, in the town, on the streets, everywhere. Wherever you go, there are young people. This is a young people’s land. A land filled with dreams and wonders. This is a land of the youth.
This is a documentary on the stories of three aspiring teenage artists - a model, a designer, a painter.
Working in progress
RICHMOND
Richmond grew up in the slum of Kampala. Through a little TV screen in the slum, he entered the magical world of fashion and dreamed of becoming a super model in the future.
LAWERANCE
Lawerance, a self-made portraitist, wants to use his pencil and hands to challenge a camera.
SOLOMON
Solomon learned how to sew and make prints on clothes in his mother's little barber shop in the village. He creates his own colorful "crush fashion" style clothes.
These three young artists become best friends in the school. They are determined to make their own Ugandan fashion.
